Quick February 2020 Update
Just a brief status update for early 2020. Hopefully I will find more things to do this year, but I can't make any guarantees yet!

Youtube and copyright, need recommendations for demo material

Copyright issues are becoming a very big issue for my type of content. I am looking for good royalty free material to use during demos of repaired equipment etc.
Upgrading my vintage 486 Compaq to a Pentium Overdrive (January 2017 unreleased video)
Просмотров 20 тыс.5 лет назад
This was recorded in January 2017. I thought it was kinda boring and redundant at the time, so I never finished it. I hope to make a fresh video this coming weekend if things go well with my schedule. It's been far too long! On a side note, the cache module I'm looking for is Compaq part number 197005-001.

Just something quick to prove that I am still somewhat alive. Hopefully I will have some better content soon. Things have not been easy this past year.

I did my first hifi experiences with the 1090 in my little town public library. Sennheiser headphones and Technics 1200 turntable. Such a full and sweet sound!! Ok, now i am not a teenager anymore and I have no more bat's ears but I found the same sweet sound in this!! Greetings from Tuscany!

This was my first receiver. I bought it for $200 in the late 70s right before HS. Just 12 watts of power but sounds great and is the hub of my garage sound system. Thanks for the memories!

This is very interesting. Got me thinking about how i could embroider some dogs or something onto the grilles of a pair of 1970s speakers i've got laying around when i've got some time.

It is still running to this day, with no failures yet. I never ended up needing the spare drive I got for it either. Last I checked, there was about 87,000 hours on it.

Nice job, I have the Pioneer SA-1000 integrated stereo amplifier that I bought second hand. Initial diagnosis indicates a lot of issues, I have ordered a ton of parts including the speaker protection relay to make sure I cover most situations that need to be addressed.

Those are some of the best amps ever made, pre China. 90's for that one. Typically the heat sync compound dries out over 20 years and that's what fries the fets, otherwise they rarely burn out.

Enjoy your lives, do no harm and leave this planet better than when you got it. Enjoy your friends, your family and don't be bitter. GOD bless this man.

I worked in a mid-level HiFi store that sold the HK line; we had a back room with really nice Ohm Walsh 4 speakers driven by the HK825/870 combination... but the 870 could NOT drive those speakers well even at its rated 100Watts RMS.... Since we also had the PM660 so-called "Hi-Current" integrated amp at 80 watts RMS, we tried that instead and it had much better results. When the chain closed and the store liquidated, I got the PM660 and later a pair of the Ohm Walsh. Now since I want to try a separate power amp (Adcom 555) I've purchased an old HK825 and will be going through it per this video and another helpful one nearby. This will be a great guide.
